Online ExCom Meeting
CBI Executive Committee had its first meeting of 2021 on the 16th of January in order to discuss various issues.
The main item of the agenda was the discussion on the dissolution of the umbrella organisation, CMSB, and the proposal of the statute of the new umbrella organisation which would substitute it. All the members unanimously agreed on asking for the equal representation and continuity rights of the disciplines under the new organisation.
The second major issue discussed during the meeting was the evaluation of the pandemics and 2021 calendar. Receiving feedback from various nations and some international organisations, President Turkmen made it clear that world championships would only be organised after the summer period if the pandemics threat calms down. On the other hand, for continental qualifications, the confederations will continue monitoring the situation and decide whether they can organise during summertime or not. The 5th Islamic Solidarity Games will be held in Konya, Turkey, on 10-19 September 2021, in which Bocce (Raffa & Volo) disciplines would be on stage with 18 other sports disciplines. So far 10 countries have already registered to the Bocce competitions.
After 2020, once again the ExCom decided to receive 50% annual fee as financial support to the national members in 2021.
President Turkmen informed the ExCom members about the INTERACT Project, in which CBI is represented as one of the 8 International Federations, financed by EC. This project will kick off in February and last for 3 years time. Giorgio Barone and Claudio Bizzari are representing CBI in the project and new interested persons will be included in the project as supporting members who all would be included in education & project commission of CBI. We are looking forward to receiving applications of the persons through our national member federations.
One of the other items on the agenda was the establishment of an online portal through which competitions and education activities can be managed. The members expressed their full commitment to support such an important initiative which has importance especially as a result of actual pandemics and possible future threats.
During the meeting, long discussions took place on the Raffa Precision Shooting Game presented by the head of the technical committee, Dino Amado. Both the online version which can be played through virtual connection and on-site version were approved by the committee.
