Iranian National Championship

The 15^th National Petanque and Bocce Championships for Men and Women, together with the 16^th General Assembly of the Iran Petanque and Bocee Association, were organized successfully at the newly opened center of this association talent identification and development located in the South-West of Iran in the Shahid Ghorbani International Sport Complex, Ahwaz City, Khouzestan Province during Feb 20-25, 2024.

This center was opened by founder and president of the IPBA, Dr. Jasem Manouchehri, for organizing its 15^th national annuals for selecting national teams dispatching to the Asian-Oceania and world championships this year. While all north territories of Iran were snowing, the beautiful City of Bridges (Ahwaz) with a cool climate was host of the top players from all around of Iran. Direct investment by the IPBA in building these Petanque and Bowls courts, in addition to the previous ones, will enable itself to be host of international events in different parts of Iran.

“After a decade of conflict with the illegal third parties, the Ministry of Sport and Youth of Iran reached a clear decision resulting in stopping other parties’ activities to support authority and independence of the Iran Petanque and Bowls Association, as the sole national governing body for all Petanque and Bowls Sports disciplines recognized by the world and Asian confederations since 2009, and to prevent destructive interference of other organizations. Our players, member provincial associations and clubs celebrated this satisfying decision in Sari! This venue, as the main IPBA center in the south of Iran, can guarantee four seasons of event-organizing in the southwest of Iran, which can positively affect the development of our recognized disciplines in the period of December to May at this free international zone.” Dr. Jasem Manouchehri, Founder and President of the IPBA, Executive Board Member of the CBI and Chairman of the CBI International Relations and Promotion, said.
