CBI General Assembly in Kemer
The CBI General Assembly was held in Kemer during the World Championship, and Turkmen was re-elected as the president for the new cycle.
During the ongoing World Bocce Championship in Kemer, the Confederation of International Bocce (CBI) held an elective general assembly meeting. In the general assembly meeting attended by 53 delegates from 37 countries, the current president, Dr Mutlu Türkmen, was unanimously re-elected for a four-year term. At the same time, Moreno Rosati from Italy and Marcelo Bravo from Argentina won the vice-presidential election, from which the other candidates withdrew.
Claudio Knecht from Switzerland was elected as the treasurer, and Tony Biancacci from Australia as the general secretary. Other board members elected in secret ballot voting were Gabor Foti (Hungary), Natalia Lele (Latvia), Hasiba Hamel (Algeria), Joe Quartorene (USA), Jasem Manouchehri (Iran), Denis Persic (Croatia), Gian Luigi Gianccecchi (San Marino), Mickael Rouault (France), and Muhamed Amine Maidi (Algeria), as the newly elected President of the African Confederation. Mutlu Türkmen, who assessed the general assembly, said, "After being elected as the president in the extraordinary general assembly in 2018, the steps we took towards institutionalization in Bocce, especially the regularly organized continental championships and world championships, have created great satisfaction. As a result, our term of office has been extended for the second time."
The general assembly decided that the files of Paraguay and France, which are among the countries that want to host the World Junior Championship to be held in 2025, will be finalized by the board of directors at the end of the year.
The FIB Secretary General Pascal Hernandez and the past president of the technical committee Henri Escallier also followed the CBI General Assembly.
