Arab Bocce Union Elects the New President
Libya hosts the regular and elective general assembly meeting of the Arab Federation of Bocce.
Under the patronage of the Libyan Ministry of Sports, the Libyan Federation of Bocce hosted the assembly in the city of Tripoli on 12-13 December. The president of CBI, Dr Mutlu Turkmen and the EC member of the Federation of Arab Sports Federations, Dr Basil Al Shaer, also participated in the assembly.
Twelve national federations from 10 countries participated in the assembly: Mauritania- Morocco- Algeria- Tunisia- Sudan- Djibouti- Comoros- Libya- Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia via phone call.
The session was opened with a speech by Mr. Mustafa Akasha, the president of the Arab Bocce Federation, welcoming the attendees for responding to the invitation and participating. CBI President Dr Mutlu Turkmen delivered the second speech underlining the importance of the Arab Federation in increasing the regular members of CBI, which will contribute to a broader representation of Raffa in multisport events, such as the Mediterranean Games, Islamic Solidarity Games, Arab Games, and possible Universiade Games.
After discussion and approval of the reports (administrative, financial and technical), the new president and committee members were elected;
- Mr. Abu Madin Al-Zlitni from Libya as President
- Mr. Imad Abu Zriba from Tunisia as Vice President
- Ms. Najat Daoudi from Morocco as Vice President
And the members:
- Mr. Mohamed Abdeen from Mauritania
- Mr. Jamal Qallil from Algeria
- Mr. Yasser Babiker from Sudan
- Mr. Bashir Laqah from Morocco
- Mrs. Hassiba Hamel from Algeria
- Mr. Qasim Aden from Djibouti
- Ms. Yasmine Al-Farra (from the State of Palestine)
So, the General Assembly renewed its confidence in the State of Libya to chair the federation and host the headquarters of the Arab Bocce Federation.
