European Championship which was played in teams, singles, and under 23 between 10 countries resulted with the 3 finals between Italy (Chiara MORANO, Valentina CHICCONI, Flavia MORELLI and Chiara GASPERINI) and Switzerland (Laura RISO, Sandra BENTINELLI, Anna GIAMBONI, and Alice BERNASCHINA). Italy made a big success winning the three gold medals. Switzerland completed the finals with 3 silvers.
Turkey (Deniz DEMİR, Esile EMEN, Fatma Buse ÖZBEKLER, and Fatma ÖZDEMİR) and Austria (Andrea STEINENGER, Beate REINALTER, Karin SCHWAB, and Evi SCHNEIDER) had the bronze medals in the teams. San Marino (Paola CARINATO, Eliana PEVERANI, Anna Maria CIUCCI, and Stella PAOLETTI) and Germany (Morena SPIGA, Martina CAVALLO, Margherita TESORO, and Conny ALTMANN) ranked the 5th; Hungary (Orsolya DEME, Vera FONTANA, Brigitta SZEMES, and Lili RACZ) and Russia (Marina KRITSKAIA, Irina LUKINA, and Dilyara GAISSINA) the 7th; and Slovakia (Iveta VILHANOVA, Veronika OBROCNIKOVA, Svetlana KYSELOVA, and Kristina STANCIKOVA) and Latvia (Natalia LELE, Anna Galina PALELUNAS, and Viktorija LELE) the 9th.
In the singles, San Marino (Anna Maria CIUCCI) and Austria (Andrea STEININGER), and in under 23 Turkey (Esile EMEN) and San Marino (Stella PAOLETTI) took the bronze medals.
CER Meeting
On the first day of the championship, the meeting of European Bocce Confederation (CER) was held which was chaired by CER President, Bruno CASARINI. President of CBI, Mutlu TURKMEN, was also present at the meeting. Casarini informed the countries about the new calendar and also briefly introduced the new reform decisions taken by CBI. On the other hand, Turkmen gave brief information on the CMSB relations and 2024 Paris Olympic bid.
