CBI Achieves Diamond Sport for All Certification: A Landmark Milestone for Inclusive Sport
The International Bocce Confederation (CBI) has been awarded the Diamond Sport for All Certification Level, the highest distinction granted to international sports federations for excellence in inclusivity, accessibility, and social impact. This recognition marks an extraordinary achievement for CBI and confirms its position as a global leader in advancing sport as a universal right.
The Diamond level certification reflects CBI’s long-term, systematic commitment to embedding Sport for All principles across governance, grassroots development, events, education, and community engagement. It is both an acknowledgement of sustained effort and a strong endorsement of CBI’s strategic vision to ensure that sport is accessible to people of all ages, abilities, genders, and backgrounds.
Commenting on this milestone, CBI President Dr. Mutlu Türkmen stated:
“Receiving the Diamond Sport for All Certification is an exceptional honor for the International Bocce Confederation. This recognition validates our belief that sport must be inclusive, accessible, and socially responsible. For CBI, this is not a final destination, but a renewed commitment. We will continue to do our utmost to support and expand the Sport for All movement, empowering our member federations to use sport as a tool for inclusion, well-being, and social cohesion worldwide.”
The President also extended his sincere appreciation to those who played a key role in the successful completion of the certification process. Special thanks were conveyed to Giorgio Barone, CBI Project Manager, for his leadership and coordination throughout the project, as well as to CBI committee members Güngör Doğanay, Onur Akman, and Ümit Yıldırım for their valuable contributions to the project management process.
Reflecting on the broader journey behind this achievement, the CBI President also noted that it was a personal privilege to have contributed to the initial development of the project concept nearly 8–9 years ago within the framework of TAFISA. The Diamond certification, therefore, represents not only an institutional success for CBI but also the maturation of a long-standing vision for inclusive sport at the global level.
Building on this prestigious recognition, CBI reaffirms its determination to further strengthen Sport for All policies, expand inclusive programs, and deepen cooperation with international partners and member federations. Guided by this Diamond-level standard, CBI will continue to champion sport as a powerful driver of participation, equity, and positive social change worldwide.
