Chiasso Hosts European Bocce Championship
The European Bocce Championship for Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Precision Shooting was staged in Chiasso, Switzerland, from 3 to 6 September 2025, with the participation of 16 nations from across the continent.
The championship featured four days of high-level competition, combining technical precision with team spirit.
Italy confirmed its dominance in European bocce, finishing first in the medal standings with three gold medals. San Marino and Austria each claimed one gold, while host nation Switzerland delighted local fans with two silver and one bronze medal. These achievements placed Switzerland just behind the top three medal-winning countries.
According to the rankings of the traditional disciplines, the first seven nations earned qualification spots for the 2026 World Championship.
The medal ceremony in Chiasso was a moment of celebration and pride. CBI President Dr. Mutlu Türkmen, CER President Moreno Rosati, CBI Honorary Member and Chair of the Organisation Committee Av. Renato Bullani, Swiss Federation President Terasina Quadranti, along with other officials of the Swiss Federation, presented medals to the champions and congratulated the athletes for their outstanding performances.
2025 edition not only reinforced Italy’s leadership in bocce but also showcased the growing competitiveness of relatively new Bocce nations (Croatia, Slovenia, North Cyprus, etc.), promising an exciting road toward the 2026 World Championship.
