Visit to Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth and Sports

President of the Confederazione Boccistica Internazionale (CBI), Dr. Mutlu Türkmen, visited the General Director of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Elnur Memmedov. The visit was accompanied by the Deputy Parliament Member of Azerbaijan, Dr. Naqif Həmzəyev, who expressed his support for the promotion of Bocce in the country, and the CBI Medical Committee Member, Dr. Umit Yildirim.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Türkmen emphasized the importance of developing Bocce in Azerbaijan as a sport that uniquely serves “sport for all” purposes. He highlighted that Bocce is inclusive and adaptable for all ages, supporting healthy aging, improving preschool children’s physical coordination, and offering a lifelong pathway for participation.

Dr. Türkmen further underlined the qualities of Bocce in fostering physical, mental, and social development. “Bocce strengthens not only the body but also mental resilience and social cohesion. It is a tool for well-being, community building, and intergenerational solidarity,” he noted.

The visit is seen as a step toward strengthening cooperation between CBI and Azerbaijan in expanding the reach of Bocce and promoting its values across society.
